IDEX: Executive commission student life

Presentation and members

Objectives and mission

The executive commission Student Life of Univ. Grenoble Alpes supports initiatives which see student life as a component of the informal education, and which improve the reputation of the university in terms of quality and dynamism of student life.
  • Reshape student services as information and service hubs
  • Develop Univ. Grenoble Alpes alumni network
  • Create a resource center for student-artists
  • Break the boundaries between campus and the city

The Commission relies on two main instruments:

  • The creation of services
  • The positioning of students as actors of change

Design new services

The creation of new services relies on a call for projects (see description below), except for the creation of the multi-service card for all students and staff. This card will be an instrument of the identity and feeling of belonging to the university Univ. Grenoble Alpes.

Create a resource center for student-artists

Grenoble is well-known for enabling elite student-athletes to access higher education. The IDEX will extend to student-artists the services required to study successfully while implementing an artistic project.

Define a strong student identity

The IDEX roadmap requires the development of a strong identity, based on thefeeling of belonging of students and alumni. Alumni associations are key to reach this objective. We are studying ways to federate existing alumni associations, create an international alumni network and a PhD network.

Two calls for projects targeting services and student associations

Creation of innovative services for student life

Projects have to support the creation of student services. They have to “develop services with students, for students and by students” and to “turn student life into a component of informal education on campus”.

Students: break the walls

Projects have to create the conditions for student to develop initiatives in various domains: culture, art, citizenship, humanitarian aid, etc. They have to involve non-academic partners and contribute to the visibility of the university and the feeling of belonging to the academic community.

These calls for projects are published on a yearly basis. They are open to students and to all actors of the IDEX Université Grenoble Alpes perimeter. Partners outside the IDEX perimeter are welcome but cannot be funded.
